"You look great Mia."
"Thanks, but you are a bit late. Let's go!"
"Maria wait!"
"What's wrong?"
"I don't know, I just, I really hope she likes me on our first meeting."
"Oh please, are you kidding me? You are hot tamales!"
"Why do you think I followed you around my last two years of high school?"I have good taste you know?"
Hahaha.
Hahaha.
"I’m sorry."
"Oh."
pft.
"Don’t worry about that. I have been very happy as your friend."
"And I hope we continue to be friends always."No matter who comes along... you and me, forever friends."
"Touché"
Hahahaha!
"Nah, but seriously now. What makes you so sure that she is the right one for you, you don't know anything about her?"
"I did meet her once when I was younger."
"Oh, I don't remember you guys ever meeting before."
"Well I met her, but she may not even remember me."
Hehehe."You are so weird Jensen."
***
"Mia!"
"Oh there she is. Come on Jensen."
"..."
"How are you Jouju dear? It’s been a while."
"Oh! I have missed you Mia"
"Well, here we are.
Jouju this is Jensen, the guy I told you about?"
"Hello I’m Jensen Tomo. Nice meeting you…"
"Nice meeting you too, Jensen. I’m Jourdan Dunn."

1st Part
Living with
my aunt was not the happiest time of my life, but having met Jourdan was the
best thing that could have ever happened to me. I thought so anyway...
Things started turning bad pretty quickly right after they had just gotten good.
Things started turning bad pretty quickly right after they had just gotten good.
I admit that
must of it is my own fault. I didn’t know how to control myself, and just made the
wrong choices one after another. I have many regrets but the only thing I don’t
regret, is feeling what I felt for Jourdan.
Yes.
I fell
for her.
I was in love with Jourdan; and I still am.
"Oops! Sorry. Too close for comfort."
"I like it! This is the one"
Before the new school year started, Jourdan thought it was time for a change of image. She said the new me -the new cheerful me - didn't look right, so she took me to get a new hair cut and some pants and shirts.
To me, it was all the same.
I'm not hooked on image, but I'm not naive to think is not important. It does play a role in life.
While we should not judge others by their appearance, if what's outside does not match the inside, we send some wrong signals, you know?
"Hey! Why don't we get you a make-over too Jou?"
"Nah! I'm fine as this. Remember..."
"You are not real in this time. Yeah, yeah. I know."
"But come on! Let's do it just for fun... uh?"
***
"Do you like it?"
"..."
"You don't like it." Sigh.
"No... I..."
"You look... you look beautiful."
Hehe.
"Thanks, kid."

So I started school, and although I was not the same Jensen I was before the summer, I still didn't want to be open with people. I guess I wasn't very trusting of others.
Three more months passed, and I was already showing progress in my studies. I had developed and interest for science.
The possibility that Jourdan might have truly come from the future had me thinking of all ways I could make time travel really happen.
My determination was so strong, the professor had joined in the research. We would spend hours theorizing.
Sure, he was a bit grumpy, and hard to deal with. But aren't all mad scientist?
He was a good professor, and his classes were the most interesting.
I was excelling at school. Sure, I had no friends, but all I was focused in was my grades and the science project. I didn't want to let Jourdan down.
But instead of celebrating my success at school, she kept being more concerned with my social life: Do you have any friends? Girlfriends? Girls you like? Girls that like you?
I didn't know what was all that about, but it was getting on my nerves.
I didn't want to have a girlfriend. Girls my age only care about looking like celebrities and being popular at school. I didn't need any of that.
But soon things changed:
***
"Huh?"
"Booyah!!
"I got one of your men"
Hehehe!
"It’s okay, if you are worried about
me, don’t. I don’t get bored around here."
"What are you going to do Jou?"
"Oh lord! Just don’t be too rough on
them okay?"
"Huh?"

"I have told you not to call me a kid. Geez!"
"Oh! Sorry.
I just don’t get it, what is so bad about being a kid?"
"'Kay, I'm looking!"
"'Kay, I'm looking!"

The next
morning at the field trip I couldn’t think of anything else but Jourdan. Why
was she playing dumb?
I knew that was what she was doing, there
is no way she didn’t understand what I meant.
I had then,
ran several theories of who we could be in the future: Best friends; in-laws;
lovers. Of course, my favorite was the latter.
If she was really from the
future then that meant she had to be my age or a few years younger at present,
and she could be anywhere in this town. Or, being more of a pessimist, she
could be in another town, even country. But I stayed positive.
I had started dedicating my lunch time at school to doing research on all Jourdans around the world.
I still had not
found one that looked like her, not even similar, but if I could only learn her
last name, I thought…
"Excuse me, but, how do you know me?"
"I notice."
"I mean, I know your name because I'm the class president so I know the names of all the students in
our class room."
"Eh? Oh. I’m not thinking about much.
Just… the future."
"That is a long way from now.
"I think
about it too, but I never worry over it. Most likely things will be better...
"...meanwhile you are here worrying about it; nah, that is a waste of time."
"It’s not a waste, thinking about the
future. It is the only thing that gives you hope… well, at least it is to me."
"Oh, I see.
"I understand."

"I understand."
"No?
"Well, you know I would like it
if you came with us. You are a nice kid."
"Thanks."
"I mean, is not really like a date or
anything."
"Mhm."
"We usually hang out there, and I have noticed how you are still very
quiet among us, we have been in the same class for 3 months now, and… "
"No?

"We usually hang out there, and I have noticed how you are still very quiet among us, we have been in the same class for 3 months now, and… "
"Will do."
Maria; the
class president.
Not the most popular girl in class, but she hangs out with the popular kids, and she had come over
to talk to me on that.
Of course it wasn’t much of a big deal, but I'm not one to think of coincidences much. Something was happening, I was sure of it.
Well, she was trying to get me to go on a date with her, but something else was surely happening.
I don't know, maybe she thought I was this innocent guy because I never spoke to anyone and kept mostly to myself. And that was cute, if she did.
But the rational side of my brain
told me it couldn’t be for anything good.
Class presidents just don’t go about
talking to the odd ball in the room. I have to admit now, I was very curious about what
made her approach me.
When you are someone with confidence problems, your ego is in danger of being enamored by the devil himself.
Not that Maria was the devil in this scenario, but close to it.
But let me not get ahead of myself.
Either way,
I had no time to date her. I needed to make Jourdan understand my feelings, and
finding the Jourdan from my present was my best option at accomplishing that.
I had already discussed all the pros and cons with the professor.
If Jourdan was really from the future, finding the present Jourdan would definitely put an end to this madness.
